In the summer of 2015 I was in Provence with my family for 10 days , one of the experiences was visiting an exhibition at Le Baux . These are man  made caves from  a former quarry but now put to good use with a different exhibition every year. In 2015-16 it  was the Renaissance Artists, an absolutely amazing place where they project the art of Leonardo, da Vinci Michael Angelo and others onto the walls in the caves  and have it accompanied by classical music. It is an total immersive experience as you walk around the caves and see the images changing. I could have stayed there for hours watching It attracted people of all ages , nationalities and I do believe it is one of the top exhibitions in France for visitors.

Below are some of the images that I took on my phone, not particularly good as I hadn't anticipated using them 4 years later

Le Baux Caves
  Provence France

Avenir Light is a clean and stylish font favored by designers. It's easy on the eyes and a great go to font for titles, paragraphs & more.

A couple of the image taken at Le Baux, so amazing I would love to go and see the current one withVan Gogh  and Japenese art. The caves are  limestone which has been mined out . From 2012, exhibitions have followed one another in the large hall of the Quarries of Light, 60 meters (197 feet) under the mountain. Van Gogh and his colorful universe is the host this year until January 5, 2020. The works of Gauguin, Picasso, Klimt, Arcimboldo and Chagall preceded them. On certain dates, in August and September, the entirety of the Quarries of Light proposes to relive the emotion of previous exhibitions by mixing the shows.

These results were taken friom Trip Advisor and show that this is a very popular  exhibition to visit and most people really enjoyed it

You enter this vast old quarry through a small door after paying 10:50 euros.
inside is a huge cathedral size area where art works of renaissance painters are projected accompanied by music, it is projected onto walls and the pillars and also the floor. the whole show lasted about 45 minutes then there was an interlude with trees and fish so that it felt as though you were underwater. words can not adequately describe the experience it is well worth the visit, as is the village of Les Baux de Provence. the quarry has a café and toilets. on busy days car parking can be a bit difficult but it is walkable from the village.

We attending this when the Van Gogh show was running - it was a beautiful and very unusual way to enjoy the work of one of my favorite painters while hearing lovely music. A little hard to figure out the show times, but otherwise, just lots of fun.

I would happily go back and visit  as I really enjoyed the visit and the overall immersive experience and you could stay here for a very long time just watching the images  changing in front of your face an listening to the amazing music.
